SPARK was started in October 1997 by two original founders who were then joined by a third partner in 2001.

All three worked together for several years in Engineering at AMF Bowling in Richmond, VA.

The chemistry between partners — like complementary parts — has allowed SPARK to build a firm that thrives on tough problems, straightforward feedback and a loose, creative camaraderie. Working with great clients over the years, we have grown to a full-time staff of six engineers and designers and a biomedical engineer, Ph.D.

In October 2007, SPARK moved into a new office condominium with a full shop on the north side of Richmond.

Today, SPARK stands as one of the top product development firms in the Mid-Atlantic. Our veteran leadership, robust set of design & engineering capabilities and top-notch third-party services set us apart from the competition.
